Arctech Solar's debut Mideast project kicks off

2018/01/14

SHANGHAI

Arctech Solar, a leading manufacturer of solar tracking and racking systems, said work has started on its 10 MW solar power plant project in Khafji, Saudi Arabia.

The project is expected to be commissioned by the end of March, said a statement from the company.

Once completed, this project will not only produce enough electricity to households, but also power seawater desalting plants nearby with clean, renewable solar power, it noted.

This is a new regional breakthrough for Arctech Solar's trackers after its successful entry into the African market last October, said the company.

Arctech Solar will be bringing its new product 'SkySmart', one of the world's first trackers designed for bifacial modules, to this year's World Future Energy Summit (WFES) which opens tomorrow (January 15) in Abu Dhabi.

With the reliability of its redundancy design and excellent tracking performance, Arctracker Pro was the first tracker product in China that obtained the UL2703 and UL3703 certificates by UL last year and has been widely recognized and accepted by customers, it added.

Guy Rong, the president of Arctech Solar's international business, said: "We are delighted to make an effort to the development of Saudi Arabia's seawater desalination."

"This project in Saudi Arabia lays the groundwork for us to enter the Middle East market. We look forward to playing a positive role in 'Saudi Vison 2030' and continuing our involvement in the Middle East area," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
